Our first show of the year is an interview with an amazing man who happened to have a 48 year career in baseball (he's not done by the way) and has positively affect 100's of thousands of people along the journey. He is a good friend of Club 400, he throws a "snapdragon", his smile lights up a room and his wisdom keeps the lights on. Ray Burris!
This show is the reason Club 400 Podcast got off the ground. We wanted to do a show for the fans about the fans of the Chicago Cubs. Who is a better, more recognizable fan than Dorothy Farrell? Dorothy is a gift to Cubs fans and this show is our gift to you. This show is about 3 years in the making, and we need to especially thank Sue McVicar and Jimmy LaFrancis for participating.
Ending 2020 on a high note, Club 400 had the Razz Prize Night. What is a Razz you ask? A Razz is like a drawing where you can buy tickets and have a chance to win over 100 prizes. The money generated from the Razz went to Katy, Tiffany, Lisa and Mike. They each received $5,000 and the Razz was a huge success. This show was recorded Live at Breakers in Crystal Lake during the 2020 Razz Item Pick Up. We interviewed a bunch of people who were involved. Take a listen.
Once again during #2020, after a delay, we are back again. This show is focused on William's Dad and the upcoming fundraiser we are having online. The "hot stove" or "warm stove" league will be starting up soon. 2021 is just around the corner and it promises to be better than the shit show we are currently living in.
Every once in a while, you hear a story where something was meant to be. On this episode, we discuss an event and the outcome, and if you are not moved by it, we are not sure we can not move you. Zach Hartmann is our guest and his story, especially during 2020, is one you are not going to want to miss. There are multiple reasons why we call this guy MVP!
Pinch hitting for Sir William this week was Cooperstown Kurt from "The Rain Delay" podcast. For those of you new to the podcast or Club 400, this is a great first episode to get you up to speed with the history of Club 400. For those of you who listen every week, there is an announcement about a very important contest that will be kicking off that could greatly affect the future of Club 400. Either way, you are a winner and as they say in the song - Go Cubs Go!!!
The season knows as 2020 is rapidly coming to an end as our beloved Cubs are gearing up for the playoffs. Still no events at Club 400, but many things happening in the Club 400 Universe. There may be a Club 400 Podcast Contest in this show and for that reason alone you should check this show out. Did you know that Club 400 Lager from Crystal Lake Brewery is the #1 rated beer in the Northwest Suburbs of Illinois?
A good friend of Club 400, Mike Gomoll is the guest for our show titled "Joey's Song". Joey's Song was started in 2010 following the death of 5 year old Joey Gomoll. Joey suffered from a rare and debilitating form of epilepsy known as Dravet Syndrome. Dravet's caused persistent seizures which were never able to be controlled through medications leading to severe learning disabilities. While Dravet's robbed Joey of the ability to speak, Joey remained a happy and fun loving child. He was happiest when music was playing, allowing him to hum, drum and sing in his own way. To be present when music was playing meant only one thing, that Joey would soon have you dancing and enjoying the music with him.
Let's get thicker skin everyone. Baseball is for lovers not fighters. We are all dingbats a little bit. On this show we touch on a potpourri of topics all for the fans of the beloved 1st place Chicago Cubs. We are dingbats and we love everyone who is listening. Go Cubs Go. Tune in for our special shout outs!
Did you ever have an experience that was so different and unexpected than what you planned? Stu and William went to Wrigley View Rooftop expecting to see one of the only games of 2020 live and ended up meeting (hopefully) lifelong friends - the owners and employees of Wrigley View Rooftop. This has also turned into the next Club 400 Event...so check out our latest podcast.
