It has been the strangest year ever, but we are 6 days away from the start of the 2020 baseball season. After several months of being pessimistic, it appears that at least on TV, we will finally be able to watch meaningful baseball. As Cubs fans, we are all excited to see how new manager David Ross pulls this team together and get them off to a fast start. With a 60 game season, every game is going to be critical this year.
It has been 3.5 months since our last podcast. It has been 3.5 months since our last live baseball game. It has been 3.5 months since Club 400 has been hosting a party. Basically, it has been 3.5 months since the world was turned upside down. But guess what? Even though we had no opening day at Miller Park, no trip to London and no Friday Funday's at Wrigley, we will survive. We hope you enjoy our quarantine ramble. We are back!
Since the 1980's there has been one voice in Chicago that is more recognizable than all the rest. He has been a long time singer for the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears, Chicago White Sox, Chicago Blackhawks and Chicago Wolves. In January 1991, he sang the National Anthem at the NHL All-Star Game and was nearly drowned out by the cheering crowd. He often sings with his talented wife Kathleen. Now he adds to the list of accomplishments and venues a performance at Club 400. Ladies and gentlemen, it is our honor to present Mr. Wayne Messmer.
Back from Spring Training, the boys discuss the good times in Mesa, Arizona. We also talk about all of the upcoming events surrounding opening day. Special guests include Bill Watts, Crawly and Danny Rockett. After you hear this show, you will either want to put your name on the early list for Spring Training 2021 or you may want to just run.
It is the best time of the year. Optimism is in the air across the county. The boys of summer are back in the spring. And there is nothing better than spring training. Every season brings a newness to it and all the teams in the Cactus and Grapefruit Leagues depart to the beautiful weather with hope - hope to make the team, hope to be an impact player and hope to help your team win a World Championship. Club 400 will be in Mesa Arizona to get the party started!

It will tough to find a former Cubs player with more personality than Mitch Williams. He has great stories and doesn't hold back on them. He was a Cubs closer for a short, but impactful time. It was another great event at Club 400 and here is the Q&A from that event. Special thanks to Danny Rockett for filling in for William on this one!
On Friday, the 2020 Cubs Convention begins. What will the Cubs executives say about this inactive offseason? Will it be enough to appease the fans? Do they have a plan for the next season and beyond? How will Grandpa Rossy respond. We will be live at the 2020 Cubs Convention reporting on all of the action. By the way, there are still tickets available...check it out, it is going to be awesome!
After nearly two months, Club 400 Podcast is back and better than ever. We have an amazing 2020 season ready for you. The Cubs may not be creating too much offseason excitement yet, but we are beginning today. So, thank you for your patience and know that we are back.
What a career Mr. Rogers has had. From working with Mike North as one of the original members of The Score to being a beat reporter for the World Champion Chicago Blackhawks to being a beat reporter for the World Champion Chicago Cubs. Jesse is a writer, a TV star, and radio genius. We love that he tells it like it is and is not obsessed with breaking news. He is the hardest working man in sports and just a great guy.
